As an Atlanta newborn photographer, I photographer newborns with their families in my studio and also in my client’s homes. Some families take great care preparing a beautifully designed nursery for their little one and prefer to have their newborn photos taken at home. This family had the sweetest neutral nursery design!

Neutral Nursery Design

All the white in this nursery served as a calming and relaxing space. The walls were painted a warm white with a white rug and glider. I loved the shape and design of the glider! It’s truly amazing to see how far nursery rockers have some through the years! They are no longer just a necessary functioning piece, but now compliment the design of a room. All these neutrals created a beautiful blank canvas for the design of the room and made the room ideal for newborn portraits. All the focus was truly on the beautiful family and their newborn baby boy.

Touches of Warmth

Too much white can make a space feel cold, but this family included just the right amount of warmth in the room. Textures and soft wood tones brought depth and warmth to this space. The crib is a stained wood that stands out against the soft white walls. I also loved the touch of wicker in the side table by the rocker. To round it out the natural touch of a faux tree in the corner added another natural element.

A Little Whimsy for this Neutral Nursery

Last, the family added a touch of fun to the design! A child’s room should always include a touch of fun in the design. Woodland creatures in watercolor were featured on the crib bedding and in frames hanging above the crib. The soft watercolors added some color without being too bold or overwhelming!
